You’ve watched them tear it up on the battle stage. Now, it’s time to show appreciation for their music. Here are several new projects from FlipTop emcees which came out from the 5th to the 27th of November 2024. This list is arguably the most diverse style-wise, so there’s something for everyone here. Like what we always say with the new fans of the league, checking out the music of the battlers is the perfect opportunity for you to dig deeper into their creative minds. Let’s begin! The entries are listed in no particular order.
Zaki - Rookie
Zaki shares the story of his eventful journey through his battle rap career in “Rookie”. Apart from the vivid imagery, he also showcased his remarkable flow and trademark multisyllabic rhyming. OPRHIC MIND provided the catchy trap beat that fit perfectly with Zaki’s rapping style.
JAWZ – Aprub
JAWZ is back with another potential smash hit. “Aprub” is a love rap track that sees JAWZ flawlessly mix singing and rapping while keeping the lyrics simple yet effective. WECKLY’s R&B-inspired beat complements the laidback songwriting approach.
Tres Diablos - FTS feat. Sayadd, Kintab Talas, Santo, Kevinstrada & Supreme Fist
Hardcore rap group Tres Diablos collaborated with Kintab Talas (RIP), Santo, Kevinstrada, Supreme Fist, and FlipTop veteran Sayadd for “FTS”. In this posse track, each individual struck back mercilessly at the corrupt system. The rap metal beat blended really well with the hard-hitting lyrics.
K-Leb - LONG GAME (feat. Apoc)
“Long Game” is part of K-Leb’s solo album “No Read No Write”. Apoc is a special guest in the song and here we see the two emcees unleash their brand of quality lyricism. K-Leb also produced the beat, which has a chill yet still heavy-hitting vibe.
JR Zero – Kadugo
JR Zero showed appreciation to all of his comrades in his new track “Kadugo”. The 3 Digitz member once again went all out with his intricate rhyme schemes and impeccable flow. “Kadugo” also deserves props for its brilliant folk-inspired trap beat.
Astral Code (Blackleaf) – Gorgom
He’s no longer active in battle rap but hip-hop is still in his blood. Davao’s Astral Code, also known as Blackleaf, has just released a new instrumental track titled “Gorgom”. It features his signature boom bap sound with a dark atmosphere.
Smugglaz - Who You???
“Who You???” is the latest single from the legendary battle emcee and one-half of the 2012 Dos Por Dos Champions Smugglaz. Here, he displays his exemplary storytelling skills and melodic rapping style. Bj Prowel produced the beat, which oozes with positive energy.
Sur Henyo x Khael Domaro - Patawarin
Sur Henyo teams up with Khael Domaro for a potential love rap hit. In “Patawarin", the two emcees ask for forgiveness from their significant others after an argument. Their catchy rhymes and impressive singing worked very well with Clinxy Beats’ upbeat production.
Karisma - EYEZ ON ME (feat. OXON & Chosen 1)
Karisma is still busy making quality hip-hop music. In “EYEZ ON ME”, he joined forces with OXON and Chosen 1 to drop some braggadocio bars with their smooth delivery and remarkable rhyme schemes. The gangsta rap beat makes this an instant club banger.
