It’s back! Let’s talk about the third Won Minutes Luzon event for the year.

From the Process of Illumination online submissions to the rise of various underground leagues, the future of Philippine battle rap is certainly brighter than ever. It became even more obvious with the return of Won Minutes this year. On the 3rd of August 2024, FlipTop will hold the third Luzon event once again at 88 FRYER in Timog, Quezon City. There will be ten battles featuring top emcees from leagues such as Motus, PULO, FRBL, Tuligsalitaan, Raplines, Word War, Sunugan, and Bahay Katay. Not only will we see new names but also returning competitors from previous events.
For those who are still unfamiliar with the concept, Won Minutes was established in 2019 and aims to highlight emerging talent. The battles consist of three 60-second rounds, reminiscent of the league’s early days. While the focus is on the up-and-comers, there have also been instances where we saw a few veterans making their comeback.
It’s the third Won Minutes in Luzon and fourth nationwide in 2024. 250 is the entrance fee and it includes one free FlipTop Beer. The start time is 7 PM. DJ Supreme Fist will be keeping the night alive during breaks with some quality hip-hop music. So if you’re free on Saturday, then come join us to witness the new generation of FlipTop.
